For a long while, I had a personal ambition to photograph the stars over Sycamore Gap, on Hadrian’s Wall. It’s a strange place, weather-wise – no matter what the forecast, it seems to have its own micro-climate… A number of times I visited following forecasts of clear skies and no moon, only to find fog, rain and thick clouds!
But my persistence paid off – this photo captured an abundance of stars, including a section of the Milky Way on the far left of the image.
